Glam Up Your School Supplies with Washi Tape

It's only a matter of time before summer is just a memory and the kids head back to school.  Help your kids get excited about the upcoming year by letting them personalize their new school supplies with our Hearts & Crafts Premium Washi Tape.

Here are a couple of our favorite back-to-school ideas:

WASHI TAPE BINDERS

Bring those boring white 3-ring binders to life by designing your own coversheets.  We went for the geometric look here, but the sky is the limit.  (Oh, and don't forget to add a little sparkle to your page dividers as well!)

WASHI TAPE PEN & PENCIL FLAGS

Last year my daughter's second grade teacher asked each student to bring 48 pre-sharpened pencils.  It seemed a bit ludicrous, but hey -- providing shiny new pencils is the least I could do.  Still, I was a bit taken back when my daughter came home a few short months later telling me she needed more pencils.  Really?  Really?  Where were all those pencils going?  Turns out the kid next to her had a penchant for "borrowing" her pencils and she never had the courage to ask for them back.  "They all look the same," she explained, "so how could I prove they were mine?"

Now don't get me wrong -- I'm all for sharing -- but it started to get a little out of hand.  This year we're using our sparkly washi tape to mark my daughter's school supplies, in hopes that we have better luck.

WASHI TAPE COMPOSITION NOTEBOOKS

Our last little project was decorating those boring composition notebooks required for practically every class.  You could do something similar for planners and spiral notebooks as well.

If you're curious about making washi tape stickers, be sure to check out last week's tutorial here.
